Sycamore Canyon Birds is an online resource for residents of the Sycamore Canyon Preserve and others to help identify bird species seen in the preserve and document their presence. All photos displayed will be of actual bird sightings in the preserve unless otherwise noted. It is my intention to gradualy add posts about each species seen with notations of where and when it was seen and how to identify it. Periodically I will also add information about feeding birds in Sycamore Canyon and possibly about some of the hiking trails. With each post the list of birds in the sidebar will grow until you can just click on a link to see the post about the various bird species. If you have any questions I am happy to help. Just ask in the comments section or email me at Kathiesbirds1 AT msn DOT com. If I don't know the answer I will try to find it!
Hello! My name is Kathie and I first started documenting the bird species I was seeing in Sycamore Canyon, a neighborhood in Corona de Tucson, in 2007. In 2008 I started my first blog. Since then I have moved several times and I now bird all over the United States. I submit all of these sightings to a program called eBird administered by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. I primarily use the Nikon D90 with a 70-300mm zoom to capture images of birds and nature. The beauty of nature also inspires my art and poetry. I hope you enjoy your visit here to Kathie's Birds, and will visit my other blogs, Sycamore Canyon, Sycamore Canyon Birds, and Kathie's Poet Tree! I was also a guest contributor on Birding is Fun until it retired in 2015.
